Our Polaris corrections network supports both legacy NTRIP clients and our native Polaris client. Both output the same RTCM3 messages to your devices.
Which is right for my application?
If you already have an NTRIP client and don't want any of the advanced features of Polaris, use NTRIP.
If you don't have a corrections client, are targeting an embedded system, or need higher security, use Polaris
NTRIP
NTRIP is a legacy protocol that's the default transport protocol for most devices with out of the box RTK support. NTRIP was once an open standard, based on Shoutcast. As of 2020 NTRIP is a closed standard, with the specification requiring purchase from RTCM.
Polaris
Polaris is a secure, open protocol for communicating with GNSS-capable devices. It's a drop-in replacement for NTRIP and outputs the same RTCM3 messages. Use our Polaris client (C, C++) or use our libraries to integrate a client with your own code.
